SLB OneSubsea Awarded Contract for TotalEnergies Kaminho Deepwater Project: Advancing Subsea Technology in Angola
In a recent press release, oilfield services company SLB (Schlumberger Limited) announced that its joint venture, SLB OneSubsea, has been awarded a contract by TotalEnergies for the development of the Kaminho project offshore Angola. The contract includes a 13-well Subsea Production System scope, along with associated equipment and services. This project will be developed in two phases for the Cameia and Golfinho discoveries by TotalEnergies and its Block 20/11 partners.
The collaboration between SLB OneSubsea and TotalEnergies seeks to deliver innovative solutions for deepwater exploration and production. With extensive experience and expertise in subsea technology, SLB OneSubsea will provide advanced equipment and services to support the development of the Kaminho project. By leveraging their state-of-the-art Subsea Production System, the companies aim to maximize production efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Angola is a renowned hub for deepwater oil and gas exploration. The Kaminho project holds immense potential to tap into undiscovered hydrocarbon reserves, contributing to the country’s energy stability and economic growth. The collaboration between SLB OneSubsea and TotalEnergies is set to play a crucial role in harnessing these resources responsibly and sustainably.
In addition to the Kaminho project, SLB OneSubsea has also secured another significant partnership with Equinor for the development of an all-electric subsea project in the Fram Sr field, offshore Norway. This groundbreaking project involves the front-end engineering design (FEED) of a 12-well, all-electric Subsea Production Systems (SPS) project. By adopting electric subsea technology, Equinor aims to significantly reduce offshore emissions, enhance operational efficiency, and gain increased control over subsea operations.
The collaboration between SLB OneSubsea and Equinor not only represents a significant step towards the wider adoption of electric subsea technology but also showcases the industry’s commitment to sustainability and reducing its environmental impact. By developing innovative solutions that prioritize efficiency and emission reduction, the companies are setting new standards for the oil and gas sector.
The global energy landscape is rapidly evolving, with a growing emphasis on sustainability and reducing carbon footprint. As leading players in the industry, SLB OneSubsea, TotalEnergies, and Equinor are at the forefront of these changes, driving advancements in subsea technology and operational practices. Through their collaborative efforts, they aim to revolutionize deepwater exploration and production, making it more efficient, environmentally friendly, and economically viable.
