The company, along with its subsidiary BioFirst Corporation, entered into an agreement with ForSeeCon Eye Corporation (FEYE) to license the Ophthalmology pipeline, including the highly valued Vitargus device. The licensing income from this deal amounts to $33.5 million, with potential royalties reaching up to $60 million.
Vitargus, valued at $187 million by a third-party valuer, is a medical device developed by ABVC BioPharma that aims to provide therapeutic solutions for various eye-related conditions. This global licensing agreement entails FEYE obtaining the rights for the clinical trial, registration, manufacturing, supply, and distribution of the licensed products.
This milestone represents a major success for ABVC BioPharma as it secures a substantial sum in licensing income and the potential for lucrative royalties. It also signifies the recognition of the value and potential of the Vitargus device in the ophthalmology field. ABVC BioPharma’s focus on developing solutions for ophthalmology, CNS, and oncology/hematology has positioned the company as a key player in these therapeutic areas.
