Its revenue sources include advertising sales; affiliate fees charged to MVPDs and ABC Network affiliated television stations; theatrical distribution through film rentals to theaters; television, video-on-demand (TV/VOD), and home entertainment distribution via licensing fees, electronic sales and rentals, and physical distribution rights licensing. Additional revenues are derived from music licensing, stage play ticket sales and intellectual property licensing, post-production services, and consumer products merchandise licensing. The Linear Networks segment primarily generates revenue from affiliate fees and advertising by providing programming under multi-year licensing agreements with MVPDs and affiliated television stations, with fees based on per-subscriber rates. The ABC Network distributes programming to approximately 245 local affiliated television stations and eight owned stations, reaching nearly 100% of U.S. television households. Its programming includes primetime, daytime, late night, news, and sports content, with ESPN programming the sports daypart under the brand ESPN on ABC. Disney Channels, comprising Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and Disney XD, offer 24-hour programming targeted to children aged 2 to 14. Key customers and markets include ABC Network, Disney Channel, Disney Channels, Disney Junior, Disney XD, ESPN, and Hulu.
