We are the largest theatrical exhibition firm in the world, as well as an industry leader in terms of innovation and operational quality. We have pioneered many of the theatrical exhibition industrys most essential advancements throughout the course of our 100+ year existence. In the 1960s, we launched multiplex theaters, and in the 1990s, we introduced the North American stadium-seated Megaplex cinema type.
Most recently, we continued to innovate and evolve the movie-going experience with the deployment of our theatre renovations featuring plush, powered recliner seating and the launch of our U.S. subscription loyalty tier, AMC Stubs' A-List. Our growth has been driven by a combination of organic growth through reinvestment in our existing assets and through the acquisition of some of the most significant companies in the theatrical exhibition industry.
Our business is operated in two Theatrical Exhibition reportable segments, U.S. markets and International markets. Prior to 2016, we primarily operated in the United States. Our international operations are largely a result of our acquisition of Odeon and UCI Cinemas Holdings Limited
