Commercial Metals's Comment on Supply Chain

The company sources ferrous and nonferrous scrap metals, which it sells to various metal manufacturers and consumers. Its steel mill operations consist of six electric arc furnace (EAF) mini mills, three EAF micro mills, and one rerolling mill, producing finished long steel products and semi-finished billets. The mills utilize equipment including melt shops, continuous casting machines, reheating furnaces, rolling lines, cooling beds, finishing facilities, and baghouse systems. A fourth EAF micro mill is under construction in Berkeley County, West Virginia, with production expected to begin in 2026. Ferrous scrap serves as the primary raw material for the steel mills, and the company believes it has an adequate supply to meet future requirements. The mills also consume significant amounts of electricity and natural gas without notable curtailments.
