Spdr Gold Trust's Comment on Sales, Marketing and Customers
The Marketing Agent, SSGA, a wholly-owned subsidiary of State Street Corporation, manages customers and accounts over which it has investment discretion. It supports the Sponsor by developing and executing marketing plans for the Trust, preparing marketing materials, incorporating gold into exchange-traded fund research, sublicensing the "SPDR®" trademark, and providing shareholder services such as a call center and prospectus fulfillment. The Marketing Agent and its affiliates may also serve as Authorized Participants or trade gold or Shares for their own accounts or on behalf of customers. The Marketing Agent operates under agreements with the Sponsor and the World Gold Council, including a license agreement to use patents and trademarks related to securitized gold products for marketing financial products involving gold securitization.
