Restaurant Brands International Inc's Comment on Supply Chain
The company sources food, packaging, equipment, and other products through a supplier approval process focused on quality and food safety. The Tim Hortons (TH) segment operates two coffee roasting facilities for proprietary blends and utilizes third-party facilities for certain products and markets. It monitors the global green coffee bean market and contracts future supplies. A dedicated manufacturing facility produces ready-to-use glaze, fondants, fills, and syrups for Tim Hortons in Canada and the U.S. Other TH Canada products are procured from approved suppliers, with procurement teams in Canada and Switzerland managing supplier relationships and supply chain risks. Distribution includes nine centers in Canada, five company-owned, with company-owned or leased trucks delivering products. In the U.S., TH products are distributed through third-party distributors.
Burger King (BK), Popeyes (PLK), and Firehouse Subs source products from third-party suppliers. BK and PLK utilize purchasing cooperatives to negotiate terms and manage distribution with approved distributors. As of December 31, 2025, BK uses seven U.S. distributors, with four servicing 92% of BK restaurants. PLK uses ten broadline U.S. distributors, with four servicing 83% of PLK restaurants, in addition to poultry distributors. BK has volume commitment agreements to purchase soft drink syrup from The Coca-Cola Company and Dr. Pepper/Snapple, Inc., with expected completion of purchases in approximately three and seven years, respectively.
