GSK operates in water-stressed basins in Algeria, India, and Pakistan, collaborating with co-located suppliers to set water targets and reduce water use by 19% since 2020. The company partnered with WWF to protect and restore freshwater ecosystems in India and Pakistan. By 2025, GSK aims for all sites and key suppliers to meet predicted no effect concentrations (PNECs) for active pharmaceutical ingredients in the environment. Additionally, GSK targets positive biodiversity impact at all owned sites by 2030, with sites such as Stevenage, Zebulon, and Wavre implementing biodiversity net gain plans. GSK engages specific suppliers in water stewardship and active pharmaceutical ingredient discharge compliance. The company works with organizations including the Alliance for Water Stewardship, AMR Industry Alliance, Science Based Target Network, Taskforce for Nature-related Financial Disclosures, and WWF.
