Gevo Inc's Comment on Supply Chain

The company's raw materials inventory primarily consists of corn and other materials and supplies, valued using the FIFO method. Finished goods inventory includes ethanol, isobutanol, and other co-products. Work-in-process inventory comprises unfinished ethanol, isobutanol, and renewable hydrocarbon products. Spare parts inventory contains components necessary for maintaining production facilities. The company generates environmental attributes such as D3 Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs), Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) credits, and carbon removal credits through renewable natural gas (RNG) production and carbon sequestration at its GevoND business. Carbon removal credits are certified by Puro Earth, an independent third-party carbon credit registry. The GevoND facility produces Carbon Dioxide Removal Certificates (CORCs) via Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS). Environmental attributes are recorded as inventory and valued at net realizable value. Revenue from these attributes is recognized when agreements are in place and control has transferred to customers.
