Ambarella Inc's Comment on Supply Chain


The company outsources manufacturing, assembly, and testing of its solutions to third-party foundries and contractors, concentrating internal efforts on design, sales, and marketing. It utilizes advanced manufacturing process technologies ranging from 130 nm to 2 nm nodes, with current production primarily at 10 nm, 5 nm, and 4 nm nodes. Most system-on-chips (SoCs) are supplied by Samsung Electronics Corporation from facilities in Austin, Texas, and South Korea. Samsung subcontracts assembly and initial testing to Signetics Corporation and STATS ChipPAC Ltd. Assembly of tested die purchased from Samsung is contracted to Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc. (ASE). Final testing is mainly conducted by Sigurd Corporation or King Yuan Electronics Co., Ltd. All foundry and assembly/testing vendors hold ISO 9001 certification. The company qualifies suppliers and subcontractors to meet quality and reliability standards and manages production forecasts and orders up to 40 weeks in advance due to scheduling requirements.
