The company operates in the oil and gas industry through its Completion Fluids & Products Segment, supplying stock and custom-blended completion brine fluids (CBFs) along with services including on-site filtration, handling, recycling, wellbore cleanup, custom blending, and fluid management. Its primary CBF technology, TETRA Neptune, provides environmentally friendly options for well completion, workover operations, and low-solids reservoir drilling fluids. The segment also repurchases used CBFs for reconditioning and resale to reduce customer costs and disposal requirements. The company manufactures liquid and dry calcium chloride, calcium bromide, zinc bromide, zinc calcium bromide, and sodium bromide mainly for energy markets. Calcium chloride products are additionally sold to water treatment, industrial, cement, food processing, road maintenance, ice melt, agricultural, and consumer products markets. Sodium bromide is marketed for industrial water treatment as a biocide. Manufacturing facilities are located in the United States and Finland, operating under TETRA Chemicals Europe AB and TETRA Chemicals Europe Oy in Europe. U.S. plants are situated in Parkersburg, West Virginia; Lake Charles, Louisiana; and solar evaporation facilities in San Bernardino County, California. The calcium chloride production capacity is approximately 1.0 million equivalent liquid tons per year.
