Bloomia Holdings Inc's Comment on Supply Chain

During fiscal year 2024, Bloomia sourced bulbs to grow over 95 million stems, with approximately 80% obtained from the Netherlands and 20% from the Southern Hemisphere. The Netherlands has around 600 tulip bulb growers exporting over 2.5 billion bulbs annually. Bloomia sources from the 10 largest producers, 20 medium-sized producers, and smaller producers in the Netherlands, with 80% of its supply coming from 20% of these suppliers. Most contracts with Dutch growers are short term, with prices determined by market conditions. Due to poor growing conditions in the Netherlands, bulb supply decreased and prices increased. To enable year-round growing, Bloomia sources bulbs from Chile and New Zealand, the only Southern Hemisphere countries with volume bulb production. This global sourcing strategy reduces reliance on importing stems and lowers logistics costs. Bloomia also invests in greenhouse automation to scale production, increase efficiency, and reduce dependence on seasonal labor. The company and its customers hold regular purchase planning meetings to optimize delivery volume and timing. Bloomia is a member of three trade associations that support import/export logistics, marketing, and wholesale business. Bulbs are shipped via ocean containers, while cut flowers are air shipped to the U.S.
