Optimum Communications Inc's Comment on Supply Chain

The company acquires cable network programming through written contracts typically lasting one to five years, paying license fees based on subscriber numbers. These fees may include volume discounts and discounts related to channel placement or service penetration. For home shopping channels, the company receives a percentage of revenue from customer purchases and occasionally incentives for channel placement. Suppliers often require popular services to be distributed to a minimum number or percentage of customers or included within specific packages, which limits purchasing flexibility. Programming costs, particularly for broadcast stations, cable networks, and sports programming, have increased beyond normal inflation and are expected to continue rising. Some contracts offer optional additional sports programming for an extra surcharge. The company faces risks if it cannot renew contracts on favorable terms, which could result in channel removals and customer losses.
