Csx's Comment on Supply Chain

CSXT depends on a limited number of suppliers for essential railroad equipment, including rail, ties, freight cars, and locomotives. Some key suppliers are based internationally, exposing the company to risks related to international relations, trade regulations, shipping disruptions, and fluctuations in global demand. The company is also vulnerable to fuel supply shortages. Most employees are represented by labor unions, with collective bargaining agreements negotiated either nationally by the National Carriers Conference Committee or at the local level. Failure to reach agreements could result in strikes, work stoppages, and increased costs. Additionally, climate and environmental regulations, including those enforced by the Environmental Protection Agency, may raise operating costs and reduce shipments by affecting coal-fired electricity generation and coal consumption, thereby impacting the company's operations and financial performance.
