Cleveland Cliffs Inc's Comment on Supply Chain

The company sources raw materials such as direct reduced iron and ferrous scrap primarily from internal and domestic sources, enabling more predictable costs and control over manufacturing inputs. Its primary competitive strength lies in the automotive steel business, supplying automotive-grade steel in the U.S., which requires higher quality and greater operational and technological intensity. Since becoming a steel company in 2020, it has invested significantly in maintaining and upgrading facilities to ensure assets meet automotive-grade quality standards. The company's North American-centric sourcing model reduces exposure to volatile global pricing and supply disruptions, as demonstrated by its legacy business of producing iron ore pellets internally to secure stable and predictable costs. The company offers a comprehensive selection of flat-rolled steel products, including advanced high-strength steel and hot-dipped galvanized steel.
