Customer assets under administration within this business line are held at depository institutions, including Schwab’s depository institution subsidiaries and third-party banks. The broker-dealer subsidiary, CS&Co, facilitates the transfer of funds to these institutions. Schwab’s depository institution subsidiaries are subject to the Community Reinvestment Act, which requires them to address the credit needs of the communities they serve, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods and individuals. CS&Co operates as a registered broker-dealer and investment advisor, with registrations across multiple U.S. jurisdictions. Charles Schwab Futures and Forex LLC (CSFF) is registered as a Futures Commission Merchant and Forex Dealer Member. CS&Co holds memberships in several regulatory organizations and stock markets, including the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. (FINRA), the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB), Nasdaq Stock Market, Cboe EDGX Exchange, Inc., and MEMX LLC.
