The Company operates through multiple business units serving distinct market segments. Its Logistics segment offers services including customs entry filing, air, ocean, and ground freight forwarding, warehousing, cargo insurance procurement, logistics planning, product repackaging, online shipment tracking, and hazardous material warehousing and distribution. This segment includes a majority ownership in Interlog USA, Inc., a non-asset-based freight forwarder and domestic truck broker. The Life Sciences segment manufactures and distributes antibodies and research and diagnostic reagents, providing custom services to academic, non-profit, and commercial customers. It has acquired ViraQuest Inc. and Biosensis Pty Ltd, a biotechnology company specializing in drug development for brain diseases. The Manufacturing segment operates through its subsidiary Indco, Inc., which manufactures and distributes mixing equipment and apparatuses for various industries, serving small- to mid-sized businesses as well as larger customers with repetitive production orders. Additionally, the Company holds a significant investment in Rubicon Technology, Inc., a provider of advanced materials specializing in monocrystalline sapphire for optical and industrial systems, with the objective of supporting restructuring and profitability. The Company also maintains other investments in marketable securities.
