He has over 30 years of experience in agriculture, energy, and supply chain management. Schmidt holds an Honorary Doctorate of Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts in business from Washburn University. Matthew Simpson, age 50, is Chief Executive Officer and a director since October 2014. He has also been CEO and director of Black Iron, Inc. since October 2010. Previously, Simpson worked at Iron Ore Company of Canada from 2002 to 2010 in various roles, including Mine General Manager, and was a process engineer at Hatch Ltd. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from Queen's University. Ryan Ptolemy, age 50, has been Chief Financial Officer since July 2011. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified General Accountant, and CFA charter holder.
