months and eased in the summer months as demand for LNG in the Northern Hemisphere
rose in colder weather and fell in warmer weather. The tanker industry in general
has become less dependent on the seasonal transport of LNG than a decade ago as
new uses for LNG have developed, spreading consumption more evenly over the year.
There is a higher seasonal demand during the summer months due to energy requirements
for air conditioning in some markets and a pronounced higher seasonal demand during
the winter months for heating in other markets. However, our vessels primarily
operate under multi-year charters and are not subject to the effect of seasonal
variations in demand.
