Village purchases substantially all of its merchandise from Wakefern under the Wakefern Stockholder Agreement, which requires Village to acquire specified amounts of Wakefern common stock. Wakefern provides Village with patronage dividends based on purchase volume and offers support services including advertising, supplies, insurance, technology support, and other store services. Village holds various notes receivable from Wakefern with differing interest rates and maturities. As of July 26, 2025, Village had demand deposits invested at Wakefern earning overnight money market rates. The company leases a supermarket from a realty firm partially owned by Village officers and board members and holds ownership interests in four real estate partnerships, paying rent to three of these partnerships for leased stores.
