The natural gas transportation and supply framework in Argentina has undergone regulatory changes and pricing adjustments to support production and infrastructure development. The Plan Gas.Ar, initiated in 2020 and extended through 2028, promotes natural gas exploration and production via competitive bidding, securing long-term supply commitments mainly from the Neuquén Basin. Infrastructure projects include the GPM pipeline, for which IEASA holds a 35-year transportation concession. The FONDESGAS trust was established to finance this project. The first stage of the GPM pipeline became operational in August 2023, with planned expansions and additional compressor plants expected to increase capacity by October 2024. The company serves as the technical operator of the GPM pipeline and its compressor facilities. Key suppliers involved include Compañía Administradora del Mercado Mayorista Eléctrico S.A., FONDESGAS, and IEASA.
