Spartannash's Comment on Supply Chain


The Company supplies private brand products to U.S. military commissaries through a partnership with the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), under a contract extending through December 2025. It is among the largest distributors to the DeCA commissary system by annual sales. Approximately 90% of Wholesale net sales to independent retailers and national accounts in 2024 are covered under supply agreements. The Wholesale segment competes with various grocery wholesalers and retailers based on price, service, product quality, variety, reputation with DeCA, distribution center locations, and value-added services. The Company operates 196 corporate-owned retail stores under the banners Family Fare, Martin’s Super Markets, and D&W Fresh Market, offering both nationally branded and private branded products under the "OwnBrands" label. Additionally, the Company supports e-commerce platforms and third-party delivery services to enhance customer convenience and order fulfillment efficiency.
