Forza collaborates with local machine shops within a two-hour radius of North Carolina to establish business relationships for rapid parts rework and delivery. The company has built and tested various boat models, including offshore-style catamarans, bay boat-style catamarans, deck boats, and center console monohulls. Forza has electrified a pontoon boat for a major national pontoon manufacturer and is engaged in additional pontoon electrification projects and monohull builds. The company focuses on continuous improvements in engine design, control systems, and cooling systems, and is experimenting with a 300 HP stacked motor design. Forza completed the design phase of the Forza X1 Outboard Motor, currently in the prototype phase, intended to power their F22 and F24 boats with up to 180 HP peak power. The outboard motor system comprises modular subsystems, including steering, cooling, lower POD drive units, trim and tilt, and cover assemblies. The core motor incorporates a proprietary custom gear reducer with a two-stage planetary gear assembly to reduce RPM for appropriate torque. The design features a compliant shaft coupler and a slewing bearing steering assembly, for which a design patent application was filed on December 10, 2021, and is pending approval.
