Freeport Mcmoran Inc's Comment on Supply Chain

The company's copper mining operations rely heavily on energy sourced primarily from third parties under long-term contracts, including diesel fuel, electricity, coal, and natural gas. In 2025, energy expenses represented 15% of copper mine site operating costs. The company purchased approximately 275 million gallons of diesel fuel, 8,600 gigawatt hours of electricity for its U.S. and South America operations, 550 thousand metric tons of coal for the Indonesia coal power plant, and 3 million MMBtu of natural gas at certain U.S. mines. Power generation at the Indonesia mining operation is fully self-supplied. Water supply is essential for mining and processing activities, and any loss or shortage of water rights could affect operations. Sulfuric acid, used in the SX/EW process, is produced as a by-product at the company's smelters and sulfur burners at the Safford mine, with additional quantities purchased from third parties as needed.
