Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc's Comment on Supply Chain
Our reliance on third-party suppliers, manufacturers and service providers to
provide equipment and services exposes us to volatility in the quality, price
and availability of such items. Certain components, parts and equipment that we
use in our operations may be available only from a small number of suppliers,
manufacturers or service providers. The failure of one or more third-party suppliers,
manufacturers or service providers to provide equipment, components, parts or
services, whether due to capacity constraints, production or delivery disruptions,
price increases, quality control issues, recalls or other decreased availability
of parts and equipment, is beyond our control and could materially disrupt our
operations or result in the delay, renegotiation or cancellation of a drilling
contract, thereby causing a loss of contract drilling backlog and/or revenue to
us, as well as an increase in operating costs.
