Alico, Inc. Secures Increased Borrowing Capacity and Extended Maturity Date Through New Credit Agreement with MetLife

Strategic Maneuvers Amid Economic Challenges: Alico, Inc. Strengthens Financial Position and Supply Chain Dynamics
In a significant move that underscores its resilience in a challenging agricultural landscape, Alico, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALCO), a prominent player in citrus fruit cultivation, announced on September 17, 2024, the amendment of its Credit Agreement with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and New England Life Insurance Company (collectively referred to as MetLife). This amendment is not merely a financial adjustment; it represents a strategic pivot for Alico as it navigates a difficult period marked by fluctuating market conditions and rising operational costs.
The restructured agreement increases Alicons borrowing capacity under the revolving line of credit (RLOC) from $25 million to an impressive $95 million, providing the company with the liquidity necessary to bolster its operations. Additionally, the maturity date for this line of credit has been extended to May 1, 2034, granting Alico the financial breathing room to implement its long-term strategies without the imminent pressure of repayment deadlines. This RLOC is secured by approximately 36,800 gross acres of citrus land, ensuring that the company can leverage its substantial assets to optimize financial flexibility.
