Nineteen surgical facilities are licensed as hospitals providing inpatient services reimbursed by Medicare under the Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS). Surgical services in hospital outpatient departments are reimbursed by Medicare using the Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS). The company is subject to various Medicare payment adjustments and quality reporting programs.
