The company also provides electric service to irrigation customers for operating irrigation pumps during the agricultural growing season. Idaho Power holds franchises in 69 cities in Idaho and 9 cities in Oregon, serving all or part of 25 counties in Idaho and 3 counties in Oregon. Its service area covers approximately 24,000 square miles with an estimated population of 1.4 million. On February 13, 2026, Idaho Power agreed to sell its Oregon electric distribution business and certain transmission assets to OTEC. The company is regulated by the Idaho Public Utilities Commission (IPUC), the Oregon Public Utility Commission (OPUC), and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), which oversee rates, service, accounting, and other utility operations.
