Green Plains Inc's Comment on Sales, Marketing and Customers

The company sources corn primarily from local markets through cash and forward purchase contracts with grain producers and elevators. It maintains direct relationships with local farmers, grain elevators, and cooperatives, which supply grain feedstock for its ten ethanol plants. Corn is delivered by truck or rail and processed into ethanol and co-products. The main co-product, distillers grains, is marketed as mid-protein, high-energy animal feed for the dairy, beef, swine, and poultry industries. The company produces three forms of distillers grains: wet distillers grains sold to dairies or feedlots near the plants; modified wet distillers grains marketed to regional dairies and feedlots; and dried distillers grains that can be stored, sold, and shipped to various markets. Additionally, it produces Ultra-High Protein, a fermented corn protein product processed from spent grain mash using FQT’s MSC™ technology, which is dried into Ultra-High Protein meal.
