Unitil operates as a utility company serving customers in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine through five wholly-owned distribution utilities: Unitil Energy, Fitchburg, Northern Utilities, Bangor, and Maine Natural. Unitil Energy provides electric service in southeastern New Hampshire, including Concord. Fitchburg offers electric and natural gas service in north central Massachusetts. Northern Utilities supplies natural gas in southeastern New Hampshire and parts of Maine, including Portland. Bangor serves natural gas customers in central Maine, while Maine Natural provides natural gas service in southern and central Maine, including Portland and Augusta. Unitil also owns Granite State, an interstate natural gas transmission pipeline company that provides services to Northern Utilities. As of December 31, 2025, Unitil served approximately 110,100 electric customers and 105,000 natural gas customers, totaling 215,126 customers across residential and commercial and industrial segments. The company's operating revenue primarily derives from regulated electric and natural gas distribution utility operations within the United States.
