In the Technology segment, Unisys develops servers and related products that
operate in transaction-intensive, mission-critical environments.
The primary vertical markets Unisys serves worldwide include financial services,
communications, transportation, commercial, and public sector, including the
U.S. federal government.
Products and services are marketed primarily through a direct sales force.
In certain foreign countries, Unisys markets primarily through distributors.
Unisys purchases components and supplies from a number of suppliers around
the world. For certain technology products, the Company relies on a single or
limited number of suppliers, although the Company makes every effort to assure
that alternative sources are available if the need arises.
Sales of commercial products and services to various agencies of the U.S. government
represented 15% of total consolidated revenue.

and foreign companies. Principal competitors are systems integrators, consulting
and other professional services firms, outsourcing providers, infrastructure
