Ultrapar Holdings Inc. is a Brazilian-based holding company that operates in several different industries. The company is divided into several different business segments, including fuel distribution, chemicals, and logistics. Ultrapar is considered one of the largest companies in Brazil, with a market capitalization of $4 billion, as of 2021.

The company was founded in 1937 as a small retailer of gasoline in Seo Paulo, Brazil. Over the years, Ultrapar has grown its portfolio of businesses, expanding into a variety of sectors. Today, the company operates in five different business segments, including:

1. Fuel Distribution: Ultrapar operates fuel distribution networks through its subsidiary, Ipiranga. Ipiranga is one of Brazil's largest fuel distributors, with a network of over 8,000 service stations.

2. Chemicals: Ultrapar owns two chemical companies, Oxiteno and Ultracargo. Oxiteno produces speciality chemicals for personal care products, paints, and other industrial applications, while Ultracargo is a logistics company that specializes in handling hazardous chemicals.

3. Storage and Logistics: In addition to Ultracargo, Ultrapar owns Ultratank, a company that provides storage and logistics services for liquid bulk products, including chemicals, fuels, and food-grade products.

4. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG): Ultrapar's subsidiary, Ultragaz, is Brazil's largest distributor of LPG, commonly known as cooking gas.

5. Retail: Ultrapar owns Extrafarma, a chain of drugstores across Brazil. The company also owns a network of convenience stores attached to its Ipiranga service stations.

In addition to its core businesses, Ultrapar has made several strategic acquisitions over the years, including the acquisition of Shell's LPG distribution business in Brazil in 2018. The company has also expanded into renewable energy, with plans to build a 90-megawatt wind farm in the northeastern state of Bahia.

Ultrapar has a strong track record of financial performance, with net revenues of $28.5 billion in 2020. The company is committed to sustainable development, with a focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting social and environmental responsibility throughout its operations.
