To reduce price volatility, Southwest Gas fixes prices on a portion of its forecasted volume in California and to a limited extent in Arizona using firm fixed-price contracts, with prices for the 2025/2026 heating season ranging from approximately $4.02 to $5.37 per dekatherm. The company also employs variable-price contracts and spot market purchases, with prices based on monthly or daily published index prices. Contracts include nomination requirements and penalties for non-performance. Storage availability can influence the average annual price.
