Oil Dri Of America's Comment on Supply Chain

The company depends on a limited number of suppliers and service providers for raw materials and packaging, which are also utilized by other industries and may sometimes be unavailable. Disruptions from these suppliers, including labor shortages or other events, could result in production shortages and affect the company's ability to meet customer demand. Growth or increased demand may necessitate identifying additional suppliers, but securing those that meet required specifications, quantity, quality, and acceptable terms may be challenging. Past disruptions have caused backlogs and may continue to do so. Production facilities face risks such as hazards, mechanical failures, labor issues, and regulatory impacts, including those experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic. Insurance coverage may not fully mitigate these risks. Operating equipment near capacity limits the ability to increase volume, and aging infrastructure contributes to higher maintenance and repair costs, compounded by shortages of repair parts affecting manufacturing. Supply chain disruptions for components or services could materially impact business operations. Accurate forecasting of customer demand is essential for effective operational management.
