BancorpSouth Inc. is a financial services holding company based in Tupelo, Mississippi. The company operates more than 300 branches across the southeastern United States and provides a variety of financial services, including banking, mortgage lending, insurance, and investment services.
The company's history dates back to 1876, when it was founded as the Bank of Lee County. Over the next century, the bank grew through a series of mergers and acquisitions, eventually becoming BancorpSouth Inc. in 1998.
BancorpSouth Inc. is organized into four main business segments: Community Banking, Insurance Agencies, Wealth Management, and General Corporate.
