Business Description
In 1958, Bowl America Incorporated was formed. In 1958, the Company opened its first bowling alley, and by the end of fiscal year 2019, the Company and its wholly-owned subsidiaries had expanded to 18 bowling alleys, 16 of which were owned by the Company. The Company decided not to extend the lease on the Manassas, Virginia site in March 2019.
Fees for the use of bowling lanes and other amenities, as well as the selling of food and drinks for consumption on the premises, are the companys primary sources of revenue.
Bowling is a seasonal business, with the majority of the Companys revenue coming from October to May. Although the market is fiercely competitive, the Company has managed to preserve its position in the areas it serves. The level of service provided to the Companys consumers is the primary source of competitiveness. Bowlero Corporation is its main opponent, and many of our locations compete with bowling alleys in close vicinity.
