Its regulated utilities segment generated operating revenues of $4,723 million in 2025, accounting for 92% of total revenues. The top five states by operating revenues are Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Missouri, Illinois, and California, which together represent 79.1% of regulated business revenues and serve 2.646 million customers. Additional states served include Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. The customer base comprises individuals, businesses, municipalities, homes, apartment complexes, and governmental entities. Most water customers are metered and billed monthly based on usage, while wastewater customers are billed either a flat rate or according to water consumption. Residential customers make up a significant portion of the customer base across all states served.
