Kevin F. McLaughlin joined Acceleron in March 2009 as CFO. He has more than 20 years of financial management experience in the biotech and software industries.
3. Christopher Rovaldi: Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
Christopher Rovaldi joined Acceleron in February 2019 as CMO. He has over 20 years of experience in clinical research and drug development, holding senior leadership positions at AstraZeneca, Roche/Genentech, and GSK.
4. John Quisel: Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer
John Quisel joined Acceleron in January 2018 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to this, he was the VP and General Counsel at Momenta Pharmaceuticals Inc.
5. Matthew Sherman: Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, and Chief Medical Officer
Matthew Sherman joined Acceleron in February 2006 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs. Prior to that, he held various positions at Biogen and Millennium Pharmaceuticals.

Alison D. Ewert joined Acceleron in December 2020 as Senior Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications. She has held similar roles at other biotech companies, including Blueprint Medicines and Alnylam Pharmaceuticals.
Jay T. Backstrom: Director
Jay Backstrom has been a Director of Acceleron since October 2012. He is also a venture partner at New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and has held executive positions at Merck and Aventis.
