The company serves customers who reuse or repurpose secondhand items, including thrifters, nonprofit partners (NPPs) and their donors, team members, and stockholders. Its customer base comprises over 6.1 million active loyalty program members in the U.S. and Canada, who accounted for 72.7% of retail sales in fiscal 2025. Merchandise is primarily sourced through three procurement models: on-site donations (OSDs) at Community Donation Centers located at stores, GreenDrop locations which are attended donation stations near donor neighborhoods, and delivered supply. In fiscal 2025, OSDs and GreenDrop locations represented 78.0% of total pounds processed. The company operates as a registered professional fundraiser where required, accepting donations on behalf of its community-focused nonprofit partners, which benefit from the revenue generated by donated items. The business model focuses on sustainability, local sourcing, and supporting community missions through revenue to NPPs.
