1. Daniel A. de Boer - Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Director
Daniel A. de Boer is the founder of ProQR and has served as the company's CEO since its inception in 2012. Prior to starting ProQR, he co-founded several biotech and high-tech companies, including Amsterdam Molecular Therapeutics (AMT). De Boer has more than 25 years of experience in the biotech industry and holds a degree in Law from the University of Leiden.
2. Smital Shah - Chief Financial Officer
Smital Shah joined ProQR in 2019 and serves as the company's CFO. He has over 20 years of experience in finance and accounting, with a focus on biotech and technology companies. Prior to joining ProQR, Shah held senior finance positions at Roche and Genentech.
3. Gerard Platenburg - Chief Innovation Officer
Gerard Platenburg is the Chief Innovation Officer of ProQR. He joined the company in 2012 and is responsible for leading the development of ProQR's RNA therapies. Platenburg has more than 15 years of experience in drug discovery and holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Amsterdam.
4. Aniz Girach - Chief Medical Officer
Aniz Girach joined ProQR in 2015 and serves as the company's Chief Medical Officer. Prior to joining ProQR, Girach worked at Genzyme and BioMarin, where he played key roles in the development of several rare disease therapies. He holds an MD from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford.
5. Latha Sarathy - Chief Business Officer
Latha Sarathy joined ProQR in 2020 and serves as the company's Chief Business Officer. She has over 25 years of experience in biotech business development and licensing, having worked at Roche, Genentech, and Amgen. Sarathy holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.
6. Alison Lawton - Director
Alison Lawton is a biotechnology industry veteran with over 30 years of experience. She currently sits on the boards of several biotech companies, including Agios Pharmaceuticals, Turning Point Therapeutics, and Karyopharm Therapeutics. Lawton previously served as the CEO of Kaleido Biosciences and as an executive at Genentech.
Andrew A. F. Hack - Director
Andrew A. F. Hack is a serial entrepreneur and has co-founded several biotech companies, including Vaxxas, Protaffin, and Astex Pharmaceuticals. He currently serves on the board of directors of several biotech companies, including Bicycle Therapeutics, Storm Therapeutics, and Seres Therapeutics. Hack holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge.
8. Darrin M. Disley - Director
Darrin M. Disley is a biotech entrepreneur and investor. He is the co-founder of several biotech companies, including PsiOxus Therapeutics, Horizon Discovery Group, and GeoSpock. Disley is also an active investor in biotech startups and serves on the boards of several companies. He holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Cambridge.
