Its market segments include exposed auto parts, construction, and home appliances. The CSN Paraná branch supports production for the construction and home appliance sectors. The distribution subsidiary, Prada, targets smaller domestic customers. In mining, the company is a leading iron ore producer with high-quality reserves in Minas Gerais and sells iron ore to third parties. The TECAR terminal at Itaguaí Port facilitates iron ore shipments. The company is the second largest participant in the Brazilian cement market, operating seven integrated plants, six grinding and blending plants, and 23 distribution centers nationwide. Cement operations utilize by-products from other company operations. The company is self-sufficient in energy generation, operating hydroelectric and thermoelectric plants, holding concessions for hydroelectric and wind power projects, and selling excess energy on the spot market.
