The Trust serves investors holding shares and accounts with investment discretion. JPMorgan, a national banking association supervised by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Financial Services Authority in London, acts as the Custodian. JPMorgan holds and manages the Trust's allocated and unallocated gold and facilitates gold transfers for Authorized Participants, precious metals dealers, and the Trust. The Custodian converts gold between allocated and unallocated forms for creation and redemption transactions, payment of Trust expenses, and exchange of Shares by Delivery Applicants. JPMorgan and its affiliates may also act as Authorized Participants or trade gold or Shares for their own accounts or on behalf of customers and accounts under their investment discretion. The Custodian's fees are paid by the Sponsor, who also selects substitute custodians if necessary.
