Brazilian Electric Power Co, also known as Eletrobras, is a state-owned electric power company that was founded in 1962. The company operates in the electrical energy sector, and it generates, transmits, and distributes energy throughout Brazil.

Eletrobras is the largest electric power company in Brazil and one of the largest in Latin America. The company has a total installed capacity of 47,000 megawatts, which amounts to approximately one-third of the country's total electricity generation. Eletrobras owns and operates 47 hydroelectric power plants, 115 thermoelectric plants, 5 nuclear plants, and several wind and solar power projects.

The company's transmission system consists of 74,000 kilometers of transmission lines and 214 substations.
