In the first quarter industry wide vehicle sales in U.S. were 4,103,000 units, 18.18% of total world wide industry sales and an deacrease of -9.17 % from the forth quarter , while from first quarter sales fell by -1.65 %.

For the same period world wide vehicle sales fell by -10.34 % sequentialy and advanced by 0.40 % from same quarter year ago.

Toyota   Ford
In the third quarter Toyota sold 2,191,000 vehicles, an advance of 0.87 % from the second quarter and an increase of 1.25 % from third quarter .

Toyota¨s world wide market share deacreased to 8.63%, from the 9.27% second quarter , while Toyota¨s market share in North America deacreased to 12.84%, from 13.29% in the second quarter . 

In North America Toyota sold 684,000 vehicles, a deacrease of -4.34 % from second quarter and a deacrease of 0.00 % from third quarter .

In forth quarter Ford vehicle sales in U.S. grew by 0.87 % sequentialy to 570,000 units and fell by -23.47 % from same quarter year ago.

Ford¨s U.S. market share deacreased to 12.62%, from 13.77% first quarter, while Ford¨s market share World wide deacreased to 5.87%, from 7.62% in first quarter. 

World wide Ford sold 1,478,000 vehicles a deacrease of -14.07 % from first quarter and a deacrease of -12.85 % from second quarter.

General Motors

In first quarter General Motors sold 738,000 vehicles in U.S. a sequential deacrease of -11.08 % and an increase of 7.89 % from same quarter year ago.

General Motors market share was 16.80% in U.S.

GM sold 179,000 cars in U.S. an increase of 1.13 % from forth quarter and a deacrease of -15.57 % from first quarter , this represented 24.25% of total G.M. vehicles sold in U.S. with market share of 11.90%.

General Motors truck sales in U.S. increased by 47.47 % from forth quarter and an increase of 3.18 % from first quarter year ago, to 292,000 trucks.

Market share was 25.30% in U.S.

World wide General Motors sold 2,344,000 vehicles down by -17.67 % sequentialy and down by -1.26 % from same quarter year ago. World wide market share was 10.40%.
